Things to do?
The Commons at Hermann Park is a massive, newly opened play garden designed for ultimate exploration. It features custom-designed, immersive play zones where the kids can "travel" to outer space, swing through the animal kingdom, and cool off in the water!
🩱🩳 If you and/or your child would like to participate in the splash pad or party game with water balloons,
please bring appropriate clothes and towels.
Space Adventure 👩🚀
An epic 45-foot rocket ship and space capsule with slides of all sizes—including safe, ground-level options perfectly sized for the 5-year-old crew.
The Thicket & Gorilla Forest 🦍
Beautiful, animal-themed climbing zones featuring a giant friendly gorilla, dragonfly structures, and the cozy Toad Hollow hideout.
Splash Cove & The Bayou 💦
Interactive water play features where kids can build dams and splash through water jets (bring a swimsuit or a change of clothes!). Change rooms available on site.
The Lott Family Carousel 🎠
A classic, beautiful carousel right in the middle of the park for a fun group spin.

🅿️ Parking Guide
There are several parking options for accessing the Commons:
- Free Parking Lots (East Side): These lots share access with the Houston Zoo, Miller Outdoor Theatre, and McGovern Lake. Tip: Kinder Station is nearby to catch the Hermann Park Railroad across the park!
- HMNS & Street Parking (North Side): Paid garage parking at the Houston Museum of Natural Science, plus paid street parking in the Museum District. From here, you can hop on the train at the M.D. Anderson Train Station.
- Memorial Hermann Medical Plaza Garage: This paid garage is directly across the street from the entrance to the Commons. Rates vary by time and day (generally starting at $10+).
